Way back before the incredulous “McGILL RESEARCHES ASBESTOS AND SUPPORTS IT’S ‘LEGAL’ EXPORT TO THIRD WORLD NATIONS (bracketing natural law)” hubbub in the bourgeois media, MARP exposed the Corporatist Fascism in the Mining and Engineering Faculty.
To be self-critical, we barely even exposed anything. This shit was hidden in plain sight.
We at the MARP find it hard to understand how someone could walk past an engraved sign that reads “ASBESTOS” every day and not want to do anything about it.
This is extremely relevant because on 2 Mar 2012, the Science Undergraduate Students’ Society held a successful General Assembly — resulting in the successful passing of a resolution calling the SUS to support accessible education, with a long-term goal of free education.
This represents 4500+ Science Undergraduates at McGill that have openly taken a political stance that directly contravenes the Will of the HMB, who has been lobbying the government to raise tuition since “the good ol’ days.”
So Mining and Engineering Students — it looks like you’re the last ones left to be radicalized (ie. turned away from Militant Liberal Disengagement / Privileged Support for Status Quo Industrial Patriarchy) — and even your Glorious Leader, EUS President Josh Redel has begun taking open stances against the Administration’s Fascist Policies.
This turn of events is almost beautiful enough to make me forget that Redel — a currently announced candidate for the position of SSMU GL — has publicly associated himself with the Social-Labour-Market-Network Jobbook.
