Not much is known about what happened at yesterday’s MILITANTLY PEACEFUL Feb 2 Don’t Fuck With Notre Education march — which started at Concordia, swung through McGill, hit up CEGEP de Vieux Montreal, and finished at UQAM.
Here, we can see that even notorious campus colonialist and slave-holder James McGill was in on the action:
The march was strong and the message was clear, especially after the McGill Banner Drop, which showed off a brand new layered text to engage in super-performative-meta-art-semiotics — conveying the ultimate clarity in the collective attitude and plethora of voices. The banner is pictured below.
The banner was hung at McGill off the est-facing side of the Dawson Arts Admin Bureau Building — this is the side facing Place 10 Nov / Community Square / Visitor’s Square / James Square [pending ratification by the Board of Governors]
This was definitely the most illegal and dangerous banner drop of the day, but all the McGill students involved escaped the McGill Security goons by handing out copies of the regulations security must abide by. Students and Security asked each other to identify themselves and at first, no one complied with any party’s verbal requests.
First of all — Security did not believe that the banner droppers were students, being that they were masked, hooked, and also wearing non-standard school clothes in order to not give away their identities.
Second of all — the Students did not believe that Security had ever read the regulations and asked them to refer to Proposition Two which states that the security guard must identify themselves. It was at this point that everything chilled out and everyone escaped.
Unlike past banner drops, this banner was completely LIBERATED and now HANGS IN THE WILLIAM SHATNER SAFE SPACE BETWEEN FLOORS TWO AND THREEEEEE!!! FUCK YEAAAAAA CHECK IT OUT TODAY OR FOR THE REST OF FOREVER!!!!!!:
We at the MARP would like to remind us all that the 10 NOV OCCUPONS McGILL banner was NEVER RETURNED!!!!
The banner, which Jutras empirically noted was specifically made to be hoisted in his famous investigation, has not been seen since the fateful day when cops descended onto campus to rough up a bunch of people for no reason.
HMB, LISTEN TO US!!!
LIBERATE OUR POLITICAL PRISONER!!!
